School Ethos/Vision: This is an international school based on the campus of a prestigious Beijing university and is a grade 1-12 school providing a unique educational experience for the approximately 423 members of the student body. The school utilises a progressive/inquiry based, North American approach to instruction coupled with a decidedly Eastern influence. Location Overview: Beijing is a bustling city with more than 13 million people on an area of 16,800 sq. km - the size of Belgium. The Beijing Municipality is flat and has a very orderly design - north, south, east and west circumnavigated by six concentric ring roads. The Beijing seasons are clearly marked by changes in weather and temperatures, and surprising splashes of colours. Beijing today is a city of vast contrasts - the new intermingles with the old, and the whole city is developing rapidly. Being a proud member of the WTO and successful host for the 29th Olympics Games, Beijing has set an even greater pace of development and change. Beijing is also home to a sizeable expatriate population comprising members from the business community, NGOs, embassies and foreign students.
Requirements:
* Minimum of three years experience as either a high school College Counselor
or a College Admissions Officer
* Should have strong ties to universities in the US especially those on the East and West Coasts.
* A thorough understanding of the admissions process at US universities, as
well as those in Canada and the UK.
* Willingness to develop an understanding of the university admissions process in a variety of other countries.
* An understanding of the expectations of Chinese parents and Chinese culture
in general.
* US or Canadian curriculum experience is a must for this role.
* You need to be adaptable and flexible and have a positive approach to life!
