This is a small, close-knit, family-oriented school that has entered a long-awaited period of rapid growth. In the past year the school has gone from 115 students to over 200 - with more to come once their beautiful new campus opens. The new campus, opening this November, with full-size sports hall, DT workshop, 3 science labs, art and music rooms, interactive touchscreens, Early Years wing, outdoor Astroturf pitch and netball court.
Grades 8-10 were added this year and Grades 11-12 will be added in the next two years, so that the full IB Diploma can be offered. The school is has held full IB/PYP accreditation since 2008 and is currently in the candidacy phase for MYP and DP.
Almaty is beautiful yet little-known, as is Kazakhstan. Almaty is a lively, young city surrounded by the stunning snowy Tien Shan Mountains to the south and the vast, open steppe to the north. It is an excellent place for families. Kazakhstan is an amazing country to explore and Almaty is a thoroughly ´liveable´ and cosmopolitan city. Hikers, bikers, and winter sports enthusiasts as well as music lovers, foodies and the adventurous will find much to enjoy.
Requirements:
You should have experience of 2 years full teaching experience, previous IB/PYP experience is preferred but not essential, and certainly you must be student centred in your teaching approach. All candidates must have a formal teaching qualification, e.g. bachelor´s degree in education, or post-graduate diploma in education.
Package: Salary ranges from $26,000 up to $60,000 (maximum) per annum depending upon qualifications and experience - stipend for candidates with a Master´s in Education. Accommodation and full relocation allowance, private medical cover, tuition for up to 2 dependants and annual flights offered.
