The Qingdao Daewon School (QDS) is seeking an English Literature Instructor to join our community of learners starting in the spring of 2018. The primary teaching assignment is to teach up to two hundred-minute blocks each day, leaving instructors responsible to around 25 students at any one time during the year. English Literature Instructor is expected to provide students a sense of cultural and global perspectives via inquiry-based learning. In the QDS, speaking persuasively, writing convincingly and thinking critically are emphasized throughout a student’s English learning career. In addition to teaching, an instructor would be expected to (1) collaborate in our periodic gathering of a level team and department meetings, and (2) participate in our students’ experiences outside the classroom by supporting either athletics or residential life and serving as a mentor to a small group of students.

School Location: Qingdao, China
Start date: February 21, 2018
Student to Teacher Ratio: 5.5:1
Working Hours: 08:00 ~ 17:00
Teaching Schedule: One to Two hundred-minute blocks each day. May choose to participate in our After School Program (Compensated Separately)
Requirements:
1.Bachelor’s degree or above from an English speaking country (USA/UK/CAN/AU/NZ/IRE/ZA). Need to provide verification document.
2.English or Education major, TEFL/TESOL/CELTA holders or a certified teacher.
3.Minimum 1 year of teaching experience preferred.
4.SAT and/or AP English Language and Composition teaching experience welcomed.
5.Must be able to legally work in China

3.Class demo video or a demo class upon request.
The Qingdao Daewon School offers competitive salary and benefits packages.
Salary: 160,000~ 230,000 RMB/year (after tax) . Will be adjusted based on abilities, qualifications, and experiences.
Housing: provided (dorm)
Flight: 9,000 RMB (at Max) Flight allowance, airport pickup service
