School Vision / Ethos: This is a hugely exciting project to be involved with. Financially backed by one of the strongest Fortune 500 companies, and in partnership with a visionary education group, this is one of the most exciting projects Leadanywhere can offer. Tasked with the inception of the school, you will be responsible for the curriculum development for this K-6 site, writing the policies and procedures, fiscal management, hiring the staff, designing and modelling the state of the art facilities, marketing and publicising the school who, at capacity will have 900 pupils on roll.
The School´s goal is to become the best facilitator and preferred choice of education provider for Expat and Chinese nationals. Due to open its gates to pupils in August 2019, the Board are keen to have their appointment in place by February 2018.
Location Overview: With a long history dating back to approximately 5,000 years, the city is located in the northern part of the Pearl River, 20 kilometers (12 miles) from Guangzhou. It is a vital part of an active economic zone comprising of Guangzhou in the east, Hong Kong and Macau in the south, all of which are easily accessible by public transport which is well designed to support this travel.
The climate is seasonal enjoying warm summers and cool winters make it ideal for the farming of fish and rice, certainly much greener and open than its more industrial neighbours. Besides fishing and farming, the local craftsmen were also known for their skills in making ceramics. Thriving handicraft industries, commerce, and the arts made Foshan one of the four most famous towns in Tang and Song (960-1279) dynasties. It has a reputation as the home of Chinese ceramic arts, Cantonese operas and martial arts.
Foshan is a modern city. It was one of the earliest ports to engage in foreign trade since China´s open door policy. It also has become the third largest city in Guangdong Province, combining its manufacturing industries with tourism. In recent years, Foshan has committed its resources to further expand its vibrant tourism industry. Steeped in history, teamed with modern malls and easily accessible transport to Hong Kong and Macau, this is the ideal opportunity to live and work in a stunning city, with plenty to keep you entertained at a cost that will allow you to save.
Qualifications
Requirements: The successful candidate will have more than 5-year experience as an international/U.S. high school director or senior administrator, together with a Master or Doctorate degree holder graduated from a prestigious university. Familiarity with the AP Program and U.S.-style high school program is a must, together with experience in matching students to college placements. Candidates must also display familiarity with long term financial and program planning, teamed with a broad knowledge base of best practices in teaching and learning. Finally, a proven record of the intricacies and securing accreditation.
Salary and Benefits
Package: Salary is dependent on qualifications and experience. The salary will reflect the enormity of the project however candidates who are motivated purely by salary and not the opportunity this role presents are possibly not the right match.
