A family that manages the conservation project within the North Luangwa National Park in Zambia - one of Africa´s last remaining great wildernesses - is seeking a teacher to home school their three children - ages 7 to 9. The working week is five and a half days Monday-Saturday mornings. The successful applicant will be teaching the children in the mornings focusing on academic curriculum, art, drama, sport, music and adventure; and in the afternoons supporting the Project’s conservation education activities implemented surrounding schools, but flexibility to help with other assorted assignments is desired. Saturday mornings are for lesson planning.

A UK certified teacher with knowledge of the British curriculum is strongly preferred but the successful applicant does not have to be a UK citizen. We´re looking for the right individual who will adapt to this unique environment - gender, age and qualifications are therefore flexible for that perfect candidate. Health and physical fitness are essential prerequisites. Previous experience working/living in remote locations in Africa or elsewhere and/or in conservation education are strong assets for the role. One teacher is required, however it is possible for couples to apply provided the non-teaching partner possesses a complimentary skill set, which is beneficial to the overall conservation project (please enquire).
