School Vision / Ethos: This German bilingual school is a small school is based on the same site as a large international IB School. Traditionally being the ´German Section´ they are now converting into a full bilingual school. Up until now, they have taught solely through German, but introducing English speaking teachers into each KG and some primary classes to team teach. This school has a strong family feel where everyone really does work together and supports each other both inside and outside the school. The staff interact professionally and personally with the staff from the IB school, so it is the best of both words: family style education with the resources and knowledge of a large school.

Location Overview: Changchun is a safe and interesting place to live with the North Korean and Russian border being approximately 300 km away. It is a large and rapidly developing city but retains a real charm and is very green and compared to other China cities - pollution is not a big issue. Winters are cold but you will see lots of blue sky and summers are hot and sunny. Tourism is growing in this popular city and you will find western amenities: Restaurants, cafes, cinemas, luxury hotels and some great shopping!

QUALIFICATIONS

Requirements: This school is family friendly and prides itself on the numbers of staff children at the school. KG and Primary children can attend the German school and secondary must attend the IB school. They considers teachers with children as a positive influence on the school adding stability. Single teachers are also encouraged to apply. Teachers should have a minimum of 2 years post qualifying experience. The school prefers teachers to have had German curriculum experience and training but they will accept teachers with other curriculum experience. Experience with ESL learners is a must, and team teaching experience will be beneficial. The school prefers team players, motivated and open minded individuals. Ability to converse or understand German is preferable.

Package: The salary is from €21,800 - €42,000 (AFTER TAX) per annum and there are 13 payments per year. Generous benefits package includes: Accommodation allowance, flight allowance, relocation allowance, other allowances include: vacation, taxi, general. As this is a German school, extra allowances have been made to ensure packages are similar to that in Germany.
