QUALIFICATIONS

When will I start?

May is a great time to start if you’re not bothered about being in class from day of the school term in Thailand. It will also be a smaller group compared to the big April and October intakes for those of you not mad on the crowds. You’ll start your TESOL course and cultural orientation at the beginning of May meaning you’ll be placed and all set to be in front of your class by June.

Is May too soon? Don´t worry, we have more vacancies for later start dates, just ask us when you apply!

Got a TESOL already?

If you have a TESOL (or similar) certificate already, you may be eligible for skipping our course altogether and enrolling in our Placement Only program option, ask us for more info on enrolling this way.

What´s the job like?

Placements are throughout Thailand and friends and couples can be placed together too. Our placements offer salaries of between 25,000 and 40,000 Thai Baht per month ($715-$1145) depending on location and education levels. Some schools also offer free accommodation too adding to extra savings. Placements are from 1 semester (4-5 months) to a full year (9 months of teaching) and are in everything from Kindergartens to High Schools, just specify which you prefer and we´ll do our best to match you with the right school. Teachers are expected to prepare and deliver lessons and take part in some extracurricular activities.

Life in Thailand

Thailand has one of the lowest costs of living in the world and so your salary can go a long way towards funding your day-to-day life in the country as well as your travel plans. Rent is on average under $280 a month with food costing you only around $200 a month. While it won´t be affording you high end luxury resorts, your salary will give you plenty of cash to backpack around the region with. Thailand is also a very safe country to travel around, especially outside of the biggest cities making it a perfect destination for female solo travelers or anyone who´s a little nervous of adventuring abroad. Teachers in Thailand are also held in very high regard and as such are treated with a lot of respect. You´ll probably be showered with gifts on your last day by your students and co-workers, and will spend plenty of time eating at the homes of other local teachers who want the honor of your presence.
