HD Shanghai is a Dual Curriculum school for children aged 3 to 18. The School is not only part of a growing network of HD schools across China, but also enjoys a strong relationship with Hurtwood House, its sister school in the UK.

Following a hugely successful opening year, HD Shanghai is looking for passionate and enthusiastic Primary School Class Teachers to join its growing team from September 2017. With positions available from Years 1 through to 4, the School is seeking dynamic individuals able to inspire and engage pupils in all aspects of their learning. The successful candidates will also have the ability and willingness to contribute to all aspects of school life, helping to create a culture of participation and a strong sense of community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver well-planned, engaging and creative learning experiences for their class
- Ensure student progress is accurately monitored and recorded
- Deliver an appropriately broad, balanced, relevant and differentiated curriculum for all students in their care
- Value the home-school partnership and engage with parents
- Ensure excellent pastoral care
- Contribute to the co-curricular program and whole-school activities in a committed and enthusiastic manner
- Maintain high standards of professionalism
- Be prepared to go the ‘extra mile’
Qualifications & Requirements
- Required CertificatesTeaching Credential/License, TESL/TEFL Certificate over 100 hours
- Education RequiredBachelor
- Minimum Teaching Experience2 Years
Additional Requirements
- Current, valid state teaching certification or TEFL/TESOL certification required
- A minimum of two years relevant teaching experience is preferred, but not required
- Working knowledge of Common Core Standards is preferred
- High levels of subject knowledge
- For applicants in Years 1 – 3, training in the teaching of phonics is desirable
- Experience working with children who have English as a Second Language is desirable
- Experience working in U.S. independent schools is preferred but not required
