JOB DETAILS

I Can Read is a large literacy-based learning organisation which has operated for over 18 years in multiple countries. We currently have 21 centres in Thailand with more planned to open soon. At the moment we are looking for teachers who can commence work in September or October, but we may consider applications for teachers who are looking to commence work later than this.

We specialise in the teaching of English literacy skills in addition to other important areas of child development, such as cognitive and social skills.

Successful applicants will be required to teach reading, writing, speaking and listening skills using the specially-developed I Can Read System. Comprehensive training will be provided in all of our programmes and methods. I Can Read teachers are required to apply the methods learned during their training in their classes and observations will be conducted to assist teachers with delivering the programmes correctly.

Most I Can Read students are aged between three and twelve. Applicants must be comfortable with teaching young children.

We are seeking qualified applicants for a full-time (5 days per week - 3 weekdays plus Saturday and Sunday) Central Bang Na, Rama 2, Sathorn and Crystal Park centres. Our centre at Sriracha (which is about 2 hours from Bangkok and located by the ocean) also requires a teacher.

We also have some part-time and relief teaching positions available in our centres around Thailand - please contact us for further information.

Training must be completed (usually in Bangkok) before teachers can commence work.

Ajarn

Ajarn.com was started as a small hobby website in 1999 by Ian McNamara. It was a simple way for one Bangkok teacher to share his Thailand experiences and pass on advice. The website developed a loyal and enthusiastic following. In 2004, Ian handed over the reins to Phil Williams and 'Bangkok Phil' has run the ajarn website ever since.
