Chongqing is the largest city in southwest China. Within its borders it encompasses a wealth of water reserves, dense forests, and abundant flora and fauna. The focal point of the region is the Yangtze Three Gorges Dam, which is a tourist attraction as well as a commercial venture. The city is famous for its hot Sichuan cuisine and world-famous hotpot dishes. The cost of living in Chongqing is very low; good quality low-cost food is readily available. The cost of transportation is low as is the nightlife. It is possible to get Western goodies and essentials; Subways and Starbucks are plentiful, and new restaurants and authentic Western-style restaurants and cafes are sprouting up all over the city.
Requirements: You should be a qualified teacher with a minimum of two years post qualifying experience in order to teach in Chongqing. You will be teaching English as an additional language up to IBDP level. You should have good experience of having taught students with EAL. UK or IB curriculum experience is highly desirable. Ideally You should have an inquiry based approach to your teaching and an ability to work well within a variety of cultures. You need to be adaptable and flexible and have a positive approach to life!
Package: Salary up to £35,000 minimum per annum depending on qualifications and experience; flights, furnished housing, medical cover, annual PD budget and Tuition for up to 2 dependents.
