A small British expatriate International School, in a remote but attractive location in Oman, is seeking an English teacher. Although the curriculum of choice is that of England and Wales the school does serve a multi-national population of children. This school is a non-profit, non-selective, coeducational British International school, which cares about their community and each other.
This school is a welcoming, open and friendly with children from a variety of backgrounds, countries, and cultures. Applicants must appreciate that because of small numbers classes are combined and there will be an element of differentiated delivery for different aged children.
The tax free salary is generous and the remuneration package also includes an end of service gratuity, free fully furnished accommodation, free utilities, free return flights, outward and return freight allowance and international medical insurance. Due to its more remote location there is a great saving potential as cost of living is very low.
Salalah is a small but attractive town in the far South of Oman near the border with Yemen. It is surrounded by mountains on one side and the Arabian Ocean on the other.
It is well stocked with shops and necessities and is fortunate to have a number of hotels. It boasts a number of swimming pools, a few bars and a couple of cinemas which occasionally show films in English.
Oman is an incredibly attractive country on so many levels. The history, architecture, culture, landscapes and the coastline are second to none in the Gulf region. Its geographical spread offers a range of physical features from sweeping sand dunes to fertile valleys, the sea and land are rich in life from elusive Arabian leopards to dolphins, the culture and local life is vibrant and colourful.
