Magic Ears is seeking to fill multiple positions teaching ESL online to Chinese K-12 students in group classes of up to 4 students. Teachers should be energetic and engaging, and should have a TESOL or related certificate or 2 years teaching experience.
Hours currently available are restricted to evenings Beijing time (6:30 to 9 pm BJT) and Saturday and Sunday mornings Beijing time (10 - 11:30am BJT). Additional hours will be opened during July and August summer holidays.
All curriculum is provided. Teachers should preview the curriculum to plan pacing and prepare at least 2 props per lesson (Bonus: many of these are every day objects and a stack of flash cards can likely fill in the rest). Short reviews of each student should be completed within 3 hours of class completion.
Scheduling is flexible and determined by teachers ideally about a month in advance. Open slots are filled by computer program, so you won´t be waiting weeks for classes to start being assigned. Support staff are ready and available to address teacher questions and concerns, and a lot of understanding is provided for teacher emergencies!
Base pay is $9 per 25-minute lesson with $2 bonuses available per class for starting pay of up to $22 per hour. Those with extensive teaching experience and degree can even start at a higher wage.
