Travel4Change is part of the ‘English for Tourism’ strategy of the Ministry of commerce, Industry and Tourism (MINCIT), which aims to train staff linked to tourism in other languages, through programs specially designed for the sector that combine the modalities of virtual and face-to-face education.
Qualifications: We are looking to recruit qualified applicants who must have teaching experience of at least one year and C1 level of english. You also must have a bachelor´s degree. A TEFL/TESOL/CELTA qualification is preferred.
Program dates: July - December, 2017 (with the option to renew)
The gig: You will be teaching adults who either work in the tourism field (tour guides, hotel staff) or are studying for this industry. You´ll be teaching in institutes and/or universities and may be required to travel to different locations within the city. You´ll be asked to work a maximum of 30 teaching hours (6 per day) and between 10-20 hours of planning and extra activities per week.
Placement cities: (mostly small touristic cities and capital cities): Cali, Medellin, Cartagena and Bogota, Ibague, Pereira, Yopal. Rural tourism locations include: Buga, SanGil, Santa Rosa de Cabal, Salento, Ipiales, Lorica, Nuquí, Mompx y Villa de Leyva.
