We are currently recruiting English teachers who are energetic and passionate about teaching young learners aged 3 to 16 years old to teach at our school in Qingpu, Shanghai. The position is ideal for someone looking for an ESL career in Shanghai and wants to further develop their skills and experience with a view to moving into a teaching/management role with us.
We use a combination of Starfall and the Wonders curriculums, and all of our classes are equipped with smart screen touch TV’s. Props, flashcards, lesson plans and all teaching materials are all provided. We have a great selection of props and resources to make classes easy to deliver, useful, fun and interesting. All training will be provided upon arrival and we’ll provide all the support you’ll need to get settled in Shanghai.
We offer reading, writing and oral classes in English to our students and we strive to provide the best possible learning experience. We are dedicated to provide a lively and interesting English classroom for our students. Our maximum class size is 10 students per class to maintain the quality of students learning environment. Teachers are encouraged to use their creativity to make the classes fun and interactive. This is a great opportunity that offers real promotion and salary progression.
Teach English in Shanghai
Known as the ‘Pearl of the Orient’, Shanghai is truly an international metropolis in every sense of the word. The most vibrant and progressive city in China, Shanghai is the economic and cultural center, blending an incredible mix of Eastern and Western culture. On one side of the mighty Yangtze River flowing through Shanghai is the Pu Dong district, rural farm land just 20 years ago, it is now the financial and commercial hub with skyscrapers stretching ever higher. Along the western bank of the river, the iconic Bund is a reminder of Shanghai’s colonial past featuring grand European architecture.
For those who like to shop, party and eat, Shanghai has all you could possibly want and more. But despite its cosmopolitan reputation, pockets of quaint tradition remain alive and well, dotted throughout the city. Explore countless old markets, back streets crammed with local eateries and discover incense filled temples still central to the locals’ daily life.
Main Responsibilities
-Maximum of 16 teaching hours per week (usually less)
-Maximum of 10 office hours per week
-Two days off per week
-Class size: average of 10 students per class
-Student’s age range: 3 to 16 years old
-Plan lessons and classroom activities
-Assist in school’s promotional events
-Attend staff meeting and teacher training
Requirements
-Bachelor’s degree
-Native English speaker from UK, USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Ireland
-2 years of teaching experience preferred
-TEFL certificate 120 hours or above required
-Clean criminal record check
-Fluency in oral and written English
-Professional, positive and culturally aware
-Energetic, friendly and hard-working
Compensation
-Excellent monthly salary: 18,000 – 20,000 RMB with housing allowance included (based on experience & qualifications)
