School Ethos/Vision: This relatively new school (they opened in August 2012) is situated on a secure 90-acre estate on the southern tip of Malaysia in Iskandar Malaysia, just across the second causeway from Singapore. This provides a spacious and beautiful environment which will enrich the development of their pupils. They are in a rural location, but it is only 45 minutes to the centre of Singapore. This is a high profile school with a brand new, purpose built campus, excellent facilities and high standards and expectations. Its affiliation to a top UK institution gives it enormous credibility. Teachers want to teach in this school!
The school is a fully co-educational, independent boarding and day school for pupils aged between thirteen and eighteen. There is also a day School for pupils aged between four and twelve, with the option of boarding from the age of nine. The school is being built on a 90-acre site and will provide outstanding facilities for 915 boarding and day pupils in the Senior School and 432 day pupils in the Preparatory School. The school is not a franchise but a genuine expansion of a school in the UK and will be managed and governed by a number of people who have a strong association with the UK school.
Location Overview:
The campus is situated at the southern tip of Malaysia in Johor Bahru, a rapidly developing area just across the causeway from Singapore. The location gives you the best of both worlds - living on a lush campus in the coutryside but with Singapore close by for weekend excitement.
Qualifications
Requirements: You will be teaching a Year 4 class. Teachers should have UK curriculum experience. Teachers should have from 2-3 years of prior teaching experience and be complete English speakers. Theschool prefer single applicant teachers, but for the right candidate will consider married couples and families with a discount in tuition for up to two children. Teachers need to be flexible and demonstrate a willingness to take on board new things. As all teaching staff will live on site, a commitment to take part in the extra-curricular life of the whole school, including tutoring in the Senior School boarding houses, is essential.
Salary and Benefits
Package: Salary payable in Malaysian Ringgit and for a teacher with 2 years experience it is around 150,000 MR pa and for a teacher with 10 years experience, around 200,000 MR pa (maximum entry point); Annual gratuity of 15% payable on completion of each year of contract (in lieu of pension contribution)
