The Literacy Studio Coordinator leads the development, implementation, and evaluation of the Literacy Studio within the Learning Commons, serving students in Grades 6–12. The coordinator provides evidence-based literacy intervention and enrichment in reading, writing, and oral communication while collaborating with faculty to strengthen literacy across the curriculum. Through data-informed decision-making, the coordinator supports students requiring targeted intervention as well as those seeking advanced literacy development, ensuring that all learners have opportunities to achieve their highest academic potential.
Key Responsibilities
Student Support
- Provide individualized and small-group literacy instruction based on student needs.
- Deliver targeted intervention and advanced enrichment in reading, writing, and oral communication.
- Support students in developing effective academic literacy skills across disciplines.
- Foster student independence, confidence, and self-advocacy as learners.
Literacy Programming
- Design, coordinate, and facilitate literacy workshops aligned with curricular goals.
- Develop resources and instructional materials to support literacy development across grades 6–12.
- Expand and refine Literacy Studio services in response to emerging student and school needs.
Faculty Collaboration
- Partner with teachers to identify literacy needs and develop targeted instructional support.
- Consult with faculty regarding literacy strategies that promote student success across disciplines.
- Collaborate with Learning Commons staff and school leadership to support schoolwide literacy initiatives.
Program Leadership
- Coordinate the daily operation of the Literacy Studio.
- Promote equitable access to literacy intervention and enrichment opportunities.
- Prepare annual reports summarizing student outcomes, program utilization, and recommendations for continuous improvement.
- Contribute to the school´s strategic vision for literacy development and academic excellence.
Qualifications
Qualifications
? Bachelor’s and preferably a Master´s degree in Literacy, Reading, English Education, Curriculum and Instruction, Educational Leadership, or a related field.
? Minimum of 2 years of professional school-based teaching experience in English Language and English Literature.
? Valid teaching certification.
? Demonstrated expertise in literacy instruction, assessment, and intervention.
? Experience working with middle and high school students.
? Knowledge of evidence-based literacy practices and data-informed instructional planning.
? Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
? Experience supporting diverse learners within an inclusive educational environment.
Preferred Qualifications
?Extensive school-based teaching experience in English Language and Literature (more than 2 years is highly desirable).
? Experience with international or IB educational settings.
? Experience analyzing standardized assessment data (e.g., MAP Growth, IB, AP, or comparable assessments).
? Experience designing professional learning or collaborating with faculty on instructional initiatives.
Salary and Benefits
Reports to: Director of Learning Commons
10-month contract, September to June
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 09:00 – 17:00
Monthly Salary Range: €1,000 – €1,350 Gross
