Applications close in -2593 days
What if you had the chance to experience a place and culture that is quite different from what you´re used to - without ever leaving the United States? We are working with a public school district in Western Alaska, where you´ll have the opportunity to make a big difference in small coastal Native American communities in the nation´s second largest wildlife refuge. You´ll live surrounded by Alaska´s natural beauty and a lifestyle that´s unlike anything found in the Continental United States.
This is a government public school job and you´ll be working for the local school district. The pay is above average, with a salary range of USD $51,000-$80,000 and annual pay increases. They will also subsidize your housing and airfare. The schools here are looking to hire U.S. certified teachers for a number of August openings. Out-of-state certification is accepted for this opening, with a straightforward license transfer process. The district is well-funded and the schools here are really well supplied.
The open postings are for 5 elementary teachers, and 6 middle/high school teachers. Subjects and grade levels vary by school location and include English/Language Arts, Social Studies, Science, Math, CTE, and Special Education.
The one year contract is a great opportunity to make a change, teach in a totally new setting, and save money - and you´re also encouraged to stay on longer and make Alaska your home. We have already sent a number of teachers to this school district and recommend it as a great place to teach.
