Englishland is a private language school in Padova, Italy that runs English courses for children between the ages of 3 – 16 and adults. Using the full-immersion method, students are able to interact with native speakers in an enjoyable classroom setting whilst preparing for English language exams. As a member of staff at Englishland you will be part of an international team and will be able to gain a large number of transferable skills that will benefit you in the future. Additionally, as we are situated in the Veneto region of Italy, you are within easy travel distance of many major cities. Venice, for example, is a 20 minute train journey away. Teachers are responsible for adapting the curriculum to suit their class needs, organizing and running events, evaluating students’ performance through continuous assessment and providing feedback to guardians.
Applicants must be in possession of a TEFL qualification or equivalent teaching qualification and must have experience of working with children and young people in a dynamic environment. Applicants should be university or college graduates, preferably with a qualification related to education or childcare. Essential qualities include enthusiasm, reliability and flexibility. The ability to work both within a team and as an individual is essential. The ideal candidate will also have experience of event planning and basic administrative skills.
As music and drama are tools that are greatly used within the school, experience in these areas would be an advantage. It is not essential that candidates speak Italian. On the job training will be provided for successful candidates. The position is for a minimum of one year with the possibility of a longer stay. Englishland strives to give their teachers opportunities for professional development and the chance to grow within the position. Start date is negotiable within the period of March - April 2017. In order to give full training prior to summer camps and the end of the current academic year, we are looking for candidates who are able to work with us as soon as possible.
